History
The farm Helena Hoeve was built in 1883 Hendrik Uijttewaal and Lamberta de Wit, our on-grandparents, were the first residents. Now, 125 years later, the farm still belongs to the family. The ‘bakhuis’ next to the farm is even older than the farm, the exact year is unknown. The ‘bakhuis’ was used as a summer house , the farm was then cleaned.
In earlier years the Helena Hoeve was a mixed farm with vegetables, pigs, cows and chickens. Until 1999, Helena Hoeve was an active dairy farm. In earlier years was a mixed farm with vegetables, pigs, cows and chickens. The last 20 years there were only cows. Since we stopped milking cows, we are running a number of 50 beef cattle (Blonde d’Aquitaine) in the meadow.
